LISTENIN’.
ASU played NAU Quidditch here in Tempe yesterday. We came away winning the games but damn NAU was awesome. At one point in the games one of their chasers was tackled by one of ours and he somersaulted, ball in hand, and managed to land while still staying on his broom. After the tournament portion we all swapped players and did a mix n’ match game which was great because (I felt) it did a lot for fostering camaraderie between our teams. Everything is sore but I can’t stop smiling. Can’t wait to play them again.
On a more somber note one of the NAU players broke a rib and had her lung punctured. I hear she’s going to be okay, but I think she deserves the BAMF award for continuing to play after being knocked out.
Yesterday, the NAU Narwhals (the Quidditch Team I play for) went up against the ASU Sun Devils. We all played really well and I am most certainly glad I got to go and play. I took a few hits and am pretty sore, but I would like to point out that one of my teammates was hospitalized last night for a broken rib and punctured lung. Luckily, the doctors said she’ll be alright and will most likely be released today. So, for those of you who think Quidditch is some pansy-ass nerd sport, you can kindly hang your heads in shame for knowing that some of us get far more injured than most of you ever will be and still keep a smile on our face and a desire to play some Quidditch!
KJACK.org will be broadcasting the NAU vs ASU Quidditch matches tomorrow! Tune in to www.kjack.org at 11:30 PST for live audio coverage of all three matches.

Today was my first practice as a member of the Crimson Fliers. I realized that the hour drive to get there really isn’t that bad. It’s better than the next closest team, anyways, which is NAU 8 hours away. Unfortunately, Brady and I were the only ones to show up to practice today. So he went over strategy and technique with me. We also did a few one-on-one drills, which obviously didn’t go real well for me. Brady is not the best person to go against one-on-one as far as my ego and self-confidence are concerned. It was pretty enjoyable though. I’m going to really like being on the Crimson Fliers, I can tell already.
Off the Pitch and On the Air broadcasts live tonight at 7pm PST! In addition to All American Rejects backstage passes and pizzas for our local audience, we’re giving away a Hunger Games themed “District 9 3/4” shirt to a national audience. So tune in on www.kjack.org for all your quidditchy needs!
Let Eric “BearTrain” Andres and Michael “Meowmers” McKenzie distract you from very important things with a little bit of ridiculousness.
LISTENING.
